Emerging Market Debt
Our Emerging Market Debt strategies have a proven track record since 2007, in widely different market conditions. The investment philosophy is based on a country-fundamentals-driven approach, with no tracking error limits.
Governance, Social and Environmental aspects are naturally integrated into the investment process, where we focus on countries that demonstrate fundamental improvements, not only economic, but also ESG-wise.
Our EMD team consists of experienced specialists and manages three different strategies.

European Credit
European Credit combines top-down and bottom-up investment approaches across a range of European and Nordic credit strategies. The team's key areas of expertise include financials & insurance, Nordic credit, sustainable bonds, corporate hybrids and short-duration credit.
Our investment philosophy is active and benchmark agnostic, with a strong focus on diversification, downside risk identification and disciplined risk management. While aiming for consistent outperformance across market cycles, the team implements both strategic and tactical credit views through wider market, sector, and security-level themes within a controlled risk framework.
The team has been active in green bonds since 2013 and integrates ESG factors throughout the investment process.
- Launch date: 20 July 2000
- Strategy available as: Aktia Corporate Bond+ (Finnish domiciled UCITS fund)
Aktia Corporate Bond+ is a European corporate credit strategy that combines top-down credit allocation with active security selection. The strategy seeks to generate excess returns through credit quality assessment and relative value opportunities rather than duration positioning, while maintaining interest-rate duration close to benchmark levels. The portfolio invests in a diversified universe of euro-denominated corporate bonds, with at least 75% allocated to investment grade issuers and up to 25% invested in selected high yield opportunities. An attractive running yield remains a key component of total return generation.

- Strategy available as: UI-Aktia Sustainable Corporate Bond (Luxembourg domiciled UCITS fund)
Aktia Sustainable Corporate Bond is an SFDR Article 9 European corporate credit strategy designed to deliver both positive environmental impact and competitive investment returns. The portfolio invests at least 80% in investment grade corporate bonds and maintains a duration-neutral investment approach. Sustainability considerations are embedded in portfolio construction through exposure to green and other sustainable credit instruments, while the strategy retains limited flexibility to invest in selected high yield opportunities when attractive risk-adjusted opportunities arise.
