Open Banking

PSD2 regulation requires European banks to open their interfaces to third-party providers. Aktia and financial IT systems provider Crosskey have entered into an agreement to outsource Aktia´s PSD2 interface starting in June 2025.

In addition to the existing PSD2 interface, we are outsourcing the following services:

  • Maintenance and development of the PSD2 interface, including certificate management
  • Maintenance and development of the test environment
  • Consent management
  • Interface documentation
  • Technical support and communication for third parties (TPP’s)

Below is a link to the Open Banking Market maintained by Crosskey Banking Solutions, where you can find additional information on Aktia’s Open Banking API products, Aktia’s Open Banking documentation, terms of use as well as the Sandbox test environment.

We currently offer the following API products:

  • Account and Transaction API
  • Confirmation of Funds API
  • Payment Initiation API
  • Redirect Authorization

Further enhancements to the PSD2 interface will be introduced in 2026, and we will provide updates closer to that time.
If you need additional information about Aktia’s Open Banking services, please contact us: [email protected]

Our latest PSD2 API performance reports will be published here shortly.

The purpose of the report is to describe the expected PSD2 API performance, and it includes, for example, the following information: Daily error response rate of all APIs, Daily total number of requests successfully processed by all APIs, Daily total number of server errors returned by all APIs, Daily percentage uptime of all APIs, Daily percentage downtime of all APIs.

Service outages

We will communicate any potential service interruptions in Aktia’s services through announcements published on this page, as well as via the service provided by Crosskey.

Tiivistelmä suomeksi

PSD2-sääntely velvoittaa eurooppalaisia pankkeja avaamaan rajapintansa kolmansille osapuolille. Aktia ja finanssialan IT-järjestelmätoimittaja Crosskey Banking Solutions ovat tehneet sopimuksen Aktian PSD2-rajapinnan ulkoistamisesta kesäkuusta 2025 alkaen.

Olemme ulkoistaneet nykyisen PSD2-rajapinnan ohella seuraavat palvelut:

  • PSD2-rajapinnan ylläpito ja kehitys sekä varmenteista huolehtiminen
  • Testiympäristön ylläpito ja kehitys
  • Suostumuksien ylläpito
  • Rajapinnan dokumentaatio
  • Kolmansien osapuolien käyttäjätuki ja viestintä

Alta löytyy linkki Crosskey Banking Solutionsin ylläpitämään Open Banking Marketiin, josta löydät lisää tietoa Aktian Open Bankig API -tuotteista ja Aktian Open Banking -dokumentaation, sekä Sandbox-testiympäristön. Tarjoamme tällä hetkellä seuraavat API-tuotteet:

Aktia’s old PSD2 Contingency API

Aktia’s PSD2 Contingency API is set of REST APIs that will require the use of eIDAS certificates to access PSD2 data.

Getting access

Prerequisites

There are two prerequisites for getting access to use Aktia’s PSD2 contingency mechanism:

  1. You need to be a registered Third Party Provider with at least one of the following roles: Payment Initiation Service Provider (PISP), Account Information Service Provider (AISP), and Payment Instrument Issuer Service Providers (PIISP, aka. CBPII).
  2. You need a PSD2 eIDAS certificate (QWAC), which you can get from a Qualified Trust Service Provider (QTSP). This certificate is used to identify you as a registered TPP.

Providing and validating eIDAS certificate

To get access to Aktia’s contingency mechanism, you should provide Aktia your QWAC certificate via email to [email protected]. Certificate validation includes three steps:

  1. TPP Authorization Status Check: status should be “Authorized”
  2. TPP Payment Services Check: your role should be at least one of the following: PIS/AIS/CBPII
  3. TPP Passporting Check: you should be authorized to provide PSD2 services in Finland

When we have validated your authorized status and made necessary configurations, we will contact you via email and provide further instructions on how to use Aktia’s PSD2 contingency mechanism. You can expect us to contact you again in three banking days.
